Its common among women to try and hide their acne and acne scars under layers of makeup but it tends to make the situation worse. You can however resort to homemade remedies for curing acne. Using turmeric is a very common method of getting rid of acne. Here are some effective homemade ways to use turmeric for acne treatment.

  • Turmeric is  very useful for the skin. It removes all extra oil and sebum from the skin. It contains anti oxidants,  anti bacterial and anti inflammatory properties that helps to reduce and treat acne.

2. Drinking Turmeric for Acne

This is the process of making a turmeric tea which will not only heal your acne but also cleanse yor body from within.

You’ll need:

  • 2 cups of water
  • 1/2 tablespoon of turmeric powder
  • 1 teaspoon of minced ginger roots
  • 1 tablespoon of lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon of raw honey

Preparation time: 5 to 10 minutes.

How to do:

  • Boil water and add turmeric powder and minced ginger roots.
  • Reduce the heat after 1 minute and let the mixture simmer for at least 5 minutes.
  • Remove the pan from heat and add freshly squeezed lemon juice and raw honey for enhancing the taste.
  • Rest it for a while and when it becomes lukewarm, drink the mixture.

Repetitions: Repeat twice daily till the pimples are all gone.

3. Honey and Turmeric for Acne

You’ll need:

  • 1 tablespoon of turmeric powder
  • 2 full tablespoons of honey

Preparation time: 3 minutes.

How to do:

  • Mix together turmeric powder with honey.
  • Clean your face with your regular face wash and apply this mixture to the acne and other problem areas.
  • Let the mask dry for 10-15 minutes and then rinse it with cold water and leave it to dry.

Repetitions: Repeat twice daily till the pimples are all gone.

4. Lemon and Turmeric for Acne

You’ll need:

  • 2 tablespoon of lime or lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon of turmeric powder

Preparation time: 3 minutes.

How to do:

  • Mix together freshly cut and squeezed lime or lemon juice with turmeric powder.
  • If your skin is prone to sensitivity, it is advised to add a bit of rose water.
  • Clean your face thoroughly with your regular face wash and apply the paste on your acne and other problem areas.
  • Let it rest for 10 to 20 minutes and wash it off with cold water and let your skin dry.

Repetitions: Repeat twice daily till the pimples for best results.

5. Yogurt and Turmeric for Acne

You’ll need:

  • 1 teaspoon of turmeric
  • 2 teaspoon of besan
  • 3 teaspoon of yogurt

Preparation time: 5 minutes.

How to do:

  • Mix together 1 teaspoon of turmeric with 2 teaspoon of besan and 3 teaspoon of yogurt and make a thick smooth paste.
  • Clean your face with your regular face wash and apply this paste on your acne areas.
  • Let it rest and dry for about 20 to 25 minutes and rinse it off with cold water.

Repetitions: Repeat this process twice weekly to cure acne soon.

6. Sandalwood and Turmeric for Acne Scars

Sandalwood has absorbing properties which helps to draw out the additional or extra oil from the skin and also soothe the skin.

You’ll need:

  • 1/2 a tablespoon of turmeric powder
  • 2 tablespoons of sandalwood powder.
  • 4 tablespoon of milk

How to do:

  • Mix together half a tablespoon of turmeric powder with 2 tablespoons of sandalwood powder.
  • Add 4 tablespoon of milk to make a past. If you need add a few more drops of milk so that a smooth paste is formed.
  • Clean your face and apply the mask on the acne affected areas.
  • Leave it to rest for at least 30 minutes or until the paste dries off.
  • Clean your face with lukewarm water and pat it dry.

Repetitions: Repeat this process once regularly, You can continue using this method even after acne are cured.

7. Coconut oil and Turmeric for Acne Scars

This pack is very effective as it fights against all bacteria and also clears the impurities that are settled in the skin.

You’ll need:

  • 1 teaspoon of turmeric powder
  • 1 tablespoon of coconut oil

Preparation time: 2 minutes.

How to do:

  • Mix half a teaspoon of turmeric powder with one tablespoon of coconut oil.
  • Make smooth paste.
  • Apply it on your acne affected areas.
  • Let it rest for at least 20 minutes.
  • Rinse with cold water and pat dry.

Repetitions: Apply regularly.
