Micro-blading and ombre powder brows are techniques of permanent eyebrow enhancement. A handheld device is used in micro-blading for achieving realistic hair strokes and creating a soft and fluffy eyebrow that looks natural. You can have a more defined finish in the case of ombre powder brows. Read on to know the differences between the two.(1)
Microblading Vs Ombre Powder Brows
The points of differentiation between the two brow enhancement techniques are as follows:
1. Longevity: Microblading outcome stays intact for 1-2 years but the outcome of powder eyebrows will last even more for 1.5-5 years. This is because there is less color saturation in the skin in micro-blading which will appear to fade sooner.
2. Fuller Appearance: With micro-blading, you can just achieve the fullness of eyebrows to some extent but with ombre powder brows, then there is an enhanced density of the eyebrows. There is no layering in the micro-blading but in ombre powder eyebrows, there is the layering of colors for a fuller appearance.
3. Type of Skin to Which These are Suited for: Microblading can be done on normal to dry skin because the crisp and clean hair strokes are possible only on this skin type. In the case of oily eyebrows, you have to visit the salon for frequent touch-ups to maintain similar looks. But ombre powder eyebrows are fit for any skin type.
Combining Micro-blading And Ombre Powder Eyebrows
If you are considering trying both the eyebrow enhancement technique, that is the best idea ever as it. In the case of micro-blading, the hair strokes either remain in the front of your brow or along the top but in ombre powder, the shading is spread throughout the eyebrows along with the bottom arch. Combining these techniques is referred to as hybrid brows which is a perfect way of adding density and getting a glamorous look.
Aftercare For Ombre Powder Eyebrows Or Micro-blading:
Once you have completed the eyebrow enhancement treatment, follow the tips below to keep the brows healthy:
- Do not wet your eyebrows for at least 7 days after the process. In case they become wet, pat them dry immediately with a tissue or soft towel.
- Stir clear off botox, facial, microdermabrasion or other chemical treatments for a month after the processes.
- Any hot, sweaty exercises should be avoided for at least a week.
- Do not get exposed to direct sunlight for at least a month after the process. Put on your hat to keep the brows protected while stepping out in the sun.
- Apply some moisturizing ointment to avoid dryness. This can be done once a day and skipped on the next day if the brows already feel moisturized
- Make sure to stay away from any unsanitary environments for the first week after the process.
- Sleep on a pillow with a clean case.
- Avoid scrubbing the eyebrows and be careful while changing your dresses as any friction might lead to color loss.
- Reduce the hot shower time for the first week and stir clear off steamy showers as this will lead to poor color retention.
