  4. It results in better outcomes for people having faint or patchy eyebrows.

How To Tint Your Eyebrows At Home?

Here is the process of tinting eyebrows at home:

1. Choosing The Right Shade:

  • Beginners can reach out to their hair colorist to get an idea about the right shade for their eyebrows. Otherwise, you can always try out for a lighter shade as it is difficult to reverse a darker shade.

2. Avoiding Dripping:

  • Apply some petroleum jelly around the areas which need to be tinted so that the color doesn’t drip and dye other areas too.

3. Brushing The Brows:

  • Use a spoolie brush for ensuring that all the hairs move in a natural direction.

4. Use a Paintbrush:

  • Use it for applying the tint on the brow shape. Make sure to do a patch test to check if there is any tingling or burning sensation.
  • Cover it thoroughly to avoid a patchy look. Later a cotton bud can be used for cleaning up the shape.

5. Let The Color Sit for The Stipulated Duration:

  • The duration varies with the type of color you are using for tinting the brows. For store-bought dyes, it may need just 3-5 minutes but longer for the natural dyes used at home.

6. Wiping Off The Natural Dye:

  • Use a cotton pad soaked in shampoo and water to wipe off the dye to prevent it from getting darker.

7. Let The Brows Dry:

  • You can notice visible results once the brows are completely dry. In case the shade is not as dark as you had imagined, the process can be repeated.

8. Longevity of The Tint:

  • A few drops of organic castor oil can be applied to the eyebrows for the whole night to ensure that the tint remains longer. It can be washed off in the morning.

Homemade Recipes for Tinting Eyebrows at Home

Some simple homemade recipes for eyebrow tinting are explained below:

1. Activated Charcoal, Cocoa Powder, Aloe Vera Gel, and Vitamin E oil

The recipe can be refrigerated for 2weeks to tint the eyebrows whenever needed. Depending on the shade you need, choose the amount of activated charcoal powder in the recipe.

Ingredients:

  • Aloe vera gel-1 teaspoon
  • Activated charcoal-½ teaspoon
  • Cocoa powder-1 teaspoon
  • A Vitamin E capsule

Process of application:

  • The cocoa powder needs to be mixed with aloe vera gel, and Vitamin E oil. To this, the activated charcoal powder needs to be added for creating a smooth paste. Apply this mixture on the brows and let it dry.
  • Those who need a deeper shade can apply one more layer and let it sit for about 20 minutes after which you can rinse it off with water.

2. Coffee

Using ground coffee for tinting eyebrows is a great option if you have tweezed or waxed the eyebrows recently because it won’t cause irritation or inflammation. The recipe we will be using will have a soothing effect on the skin.

Ingredients:

  • Coffee grounds-2 tablespoons
  • Cocoa powder-1 teaspoon
  • Coconut oil-2 tablespoons
  • Honey-1 tablespoon

Process of application:

  • Make a thick paste with the above ingredients and let it sit for some time. On clean and dried eyebrows, apply it with a brush and leave it for about 30 minutes.
  • For a darker shade, it can be left even longer or reapplied. Wipe it off with a wet cotton pad.

3. Henna

It is a good option for people having reddish or red-brown hair since henna results in a similar shade. You can add a pinch of indigo powder for getting a brown burgundy eyebrow.

Ingredients:

  • Organic henna powder-2 tablespoons
  • Coconut oil-1 teaspoon
  • Water-1 tablespoon

Process of application:

  • Create a paste of henna powder and water. The consistency shouldn’t be runny. Apply it on a clean eyebrow with a brush and seal it with a cling wrap to prevent it from flaking.
  • The cling wrap can be flattered over the brows to eliminate all air bubbles. Let it remain for about 3 hours before washing it with normal water.

Final Words:

Store-bought dyes take less time in tinting the eyebrows but since they have some chemicals added to them, it is better to go for the natural ways which are for the skin. But before using it, you must know that the results might not be complete as per your choice.
