What Happens To Mascara When It Remains Sealed For A Long Period?
If you think that mascara would dry out in this case, you are wrong, especially when it is stored in a cool and dry place. This should be still in its usable liquid form for up to 3 years. But, once you open it, it can be stored just for 2 years. In case you feel it to be weird, like it is thick and has changed color, discard it.
Reasons To Avoid Expired Mascara
Expired mascara might have bacteria developed in it, which can lead to irritation and eye infection. You might even lose your vision by using such products.
It is always recommended to check the expiry date of the mascara while purchasing it, so you can safely store it for a longer time in case you aren’t using it. But if it expires, then just discard it, to avoid any unwanted outcomes for your eyes.
